About the starter pokémon wheel
Spin for one of the 27 starter Pokémon from Generations 1 to 9, from Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle to Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly. Use it for challenge runs, fan art prompts, or settling the eternal "best starter" debate. (Last checked October 2026.)
Ways to use it
- Random starter challenge for a new playthrough.
- Fan art or drawing prompt.
- Settle the "best starter" debate with fate.
Grass, fire or water: the starter triangle
Every main-series generation offers three starters, one each of grass, fire and water. Grass is strong against water, water against fire and fire against grass, so no starter is best against everything. The wheel holds all 27 from Kanto to Paldea, so each one has the same 1 in 27 chance.
Using the wheel for a Nuzlocke
Many Nuzlocke runs randomise the starter to keep things fair. Spin before you start the game; if the starter is not available in the game you are playing, keep only that region’s three in the entries box and spin again. Pair it with the Nuzlocke rules wheel to add a random extra rule.

Frequently asked questions
Which generations are included?
Generations 1 to 9: three starters each (grass, fire and water), 27 in total. New generations will be added when they release.
Can I spin only one type?
Yes. Keep only the fire starters, for example, by deleting the rest from the entries box.
Is the wheel really random?
Yes. The winner is chosen by your browser’s random number generator before the wheel starts turning, and every slice has the same chance.
Can I save or share my wheel?
Click "Save" to keep the wheel in My wheels in this browser, or "Share wheel" to copy a link that opens your exact list on any device.
