Random Color Picker Wheel

One random color, coming up.

Or drag a screenshot or file onto this box, or paste a screenshot with Cmd+V / Ctrl+V. Names are read on your device and never uploaded.

Each picture becomes a slice, named after the file (e.g. ana.jpg → Ana). Pictures stay on this device and aren’t included in share links.

Tip: add *3 after an entry (e.g. "Pizza *3") to make it three times as likely.

About the random color picker wheel

This wheel picks a random color name from a mix of basics and fun shades. Use it for art and design challenges, "wear this color tomorrow" games, scavenger hunts, or color-learning activities with young kids. Spin twice for a color combination.

Ways to use it

  • Art challenge: draw something using only the color you spin.
  • Scavenger hunt: find five things in the color the wheel picks.
  • Outfit or theme-day ideas for friends or classes.

Primary, secondary and neutral colors

Red, yellow and blue are the traditional primary colors in painting; mixing two gives the secondary colors orange, green and purple. Black, white and gray are neutrals. Spin twice and ask what color you would get by mixing the two, a quick art lesson in one spin.

Games that use a color wheel

Play color scavenger hunt (find something that color in 30 seconds), split the class into color teams, or use it for drawing challenges where you can only use the color you spin. For Twister, keep only red, blue, yellow and green.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as a color wheel for color theory?

No. This is a random picker that chooses a color name. A color-theory color wheel shows how colors relate (complementary, analogous and so on).

Can I use it with young kids?

Yes. Remove the trickier shades like teal and maroon to keep to the basic colors while they learn.

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. The winner is chosen by your browser’s random number generator before the wheel starts turning, and every slice has the same chance.

Can I save or share my wheel?

Click "Save" to keep the wheel in My wheels in this browser, or "Share wheel" to copy a link that opens your exact list on any device.
