Random Time Wheel

Any hour of the day, one spin.

Or drag a screenshot or file onto this box, or paste a screenshot with Cmd+V / Ctrl+V. Names are read on your device and never uploaded.

Each picture becomes a slice, named after the file (e.g. ana.jpg → Ana). Pictures stay on this device and aren’t included in share links.

Tip: add *3 after an entry (e.g. "Pizza *3") to make it three times as likely.

About the random time wheel

The random time wheel picks one of the 24 hours of the day. Teachers use it for telling-time practice (spin, then set a clock to match), and it’s handy for games and writing prompts like "what were you doing at this time yesterday?"

Ways to use it

  • Telling-time practice: students set a clock to the time the wheel picks.
  • Writing prompt: describe what happens in your story at this hour.
  • Pick a random time for a surprise or challenge.

How the random time is picked

The wheel holds the 24 hours of the day on the hour, from 12:00 AM to 11:00 PM, so each time has a 1 in 24 chance (about 4.2%). For times with minutes, spin this wheel for the hour and a number wheel from 0 to 59 for the minutes, or type your own times into the entries box, one per line.

Telling-time practice for the classroom

Spin a time and ask students to show it on a paper or online clock, or to write it in words ("half past four"). For elapsed time, spin twice and ask how long it is from the first time to the second. Switching between AM and PM times is a quick way to practise the 12-hour clock.

Frequently asked questions

Can I include half hours?

Yes. Add times like "3:30 PM" on new lines, or replace the list with the times you’re practicing.

Can I use 24-hour time instead?

Yes. Clear the entries and type times like 00:00 to 23:00, one per line.

Is the wheel really random?

Yes. The winner is chosen by your browser’s random number generator before the wheel starts turning, and every slice has the same chance.

Can I save or share my wheel?

Click "Save" to keep the wheel in My wheels in this browser, or "Share wheel" to copy a link that opens your exact list on any device.
